Awarded to UK police forces “For Faithful service in the special constabulary”. This is the George 6 (George VI) version. A long and CLEAN record of service in the UK police is necessary to qualify for the medal.
UK Police medal from the reign of George 5 (or George V) awarded as per stated on the reverse: “For faithful service in the Special Constabulary”. This award is very similar to the Long Service and Good Conduct medals issued by the British armed forces.
